I like to be on top of of trends. Not because I want to follow them blindly. But I do like to keep my own style, if I have one, as modern as possible. What does that actually mean and how do I do that? Not that it’s all rocket science, not at all of course. But I’m just sharing my experiences here. And perhaps you have some tips to add!
Be on top of trends
Every season it is fun to read online or in fashion magazines what we ,need, to wear to be on top of trends. Now that doesn’t mean that you have to wear just that and exactly like that! Not at all, if you want to stay true to yourself! And of course perhaps you just don’t want to wear what’s trendy! Nothing wrong with that. I pick out what appeals to me and then I check what I have in my closet or whether I want to buy something new. And then I try to wear that trendy item in a modern way, but without giving in to my own style.
I like to be aware of trends, I like to look up to date. In my eyes then. What you will see a lot this season, are the denim skirts. And I’ve had this one in my closet for a while, so now it’s time to wear it more often. I wear it in two different ways. I’ll show you one of them now and the other next week. This week it’s the turn of the more trendy version. And the funny thing is that I wanted to show off this look more for the blog, but I actually really like it a lot.
Trendy look with a denim skirt
It’s a very simple look, and you know I like that. A white t-shirt, white sneakers, a leather jacket and the baseball cap. That’s all it is! Okay, add a statement necklace and a studded belt. By the way, I never wear a baseball cap because it doesn’t really suit me. But this is purely to show the trendy version of the denim skirt. So will I wear it like this? Yes, because it is very much my style, without the cap then. And it is a modern look. Not that I want to dress like a 20 yo, but I want to be on top of trends as much as I like!

I think this is a classic outfit, Sharron Murphy! A white tee, a denim anything, and a black leather jacket are always on trend…at least, I think so. But, then again, what do I know! I only wear a baseball hat when I’m out walking. You have fabulous hair so I wouldn’t want to cover it!
