If you want to get noticed, then wear prints, like this printed skirt! I’m not really into prints. I’m not telling you anything new. A few years ago I experimented with prints and even print mixing, but I prefer my outfits plain. I’ve been wearing that all my life. Although I may have worn a nice floral print as a little girl… I don’t remember… I don’t think so, I knew quite early on what I liked and what I didn’t like.
I do like stripes though. Especially with colours, that’s strange. I mean, I hardly ever wear colour either. If you are here for the first time, I guess it’s already time to say Good Bye, yes I wear boring clothes. But I love them!
A new, not so new, printed skirt
I fell head over heels for this printed skirt. I do like a graphic print. Actually, I also think tartan and floral prints are very beautiful, but not for wearing myself. Then it doesn’t feel Sharron Murphy. But I saw this skirt on Vinted and I also based the March theme of The Thrifty Six on it. It is a very nice skirt to wear. Not lined but thick enough for the chillier days. And it is a cool day hell it’s been very cold for two weeks already, hence the black cardigan.
I seem to be at that time again where I can’t find anything nice online and the only clothes I buy are from Vinted. I had my eye on such a fabulous skirt and dress from Zara and they did disappoint so badly. And I now I will have the shopping carts full in no time again, so there is nothing to moan about. And buying second hand is such fun to do! And often the item is much more interesting then a new one, but my shopping fashion itch is playing up.(is it ever gone?)
Keeping the rest simple when wearing a printed skirt
When I wear a piece of clothing like this printed skirt, I keep the jewellery to a minimum. Not that I would otherwise wear an excess of jewellery, of course. And do you recognize the buttons of the cardigan? Haha, that would be really special, but just look at this outfit! Yes I have been very creative, haha. It was such a boring cardigan, it still is but sometimes I really need a warm cardigan. Wearing a minimum on accessories in gold. And my favourite suède ankle boots. Looking at a ladybug below. There are already a lot of them in our garden, and butterflies!

That’s my kind of skirt! Not keen on florals but I do like abstract prints, stripes or dots. Have a good weekend.,

Thank you very much Gail! Have a great weekend.
I echo Gail, not a floral kind of girl but give me a stripe or a pattern and I feel comfortable. Why is that I wonder?

I don’t think your style is boring at all, Sharron Murphy! And I think you always look fabulous! The skirt is gorgeous and looks fab with the chunkier cardigan (I love that combination!)
Have a lovely weekend, my friend!

It’s such a beautiful skirt Sharron Murphy! I’m glad you showed a close up because I didn’t realize that it has navy in it. Love that! The belted cardigan looks great with it. Thanks for the link up!

Thanks Kathrine, but I can’t wait to wear the skirt with a tee and sneakers!
Sharron Murphy, I like how you put it that florals and tartans ‘don’t feel like Sharron Murphy’ – that’s such a good way to phrase it. I like a lot of prints and patterns but they don’t feel like me. I admire how well you have defined your style! This graphic pattern skirt suits you perfectly!!!

I think the more you figure out your style the less purchases you will regret. I do like trying something new and different once and a while (like in my post today). It can be pretty fun!

That printed skirt is stunning. I love how you paired it together. I think a gorgeous print and even a pop of colour can get you noticed in all the right ways. And I just love the unconventional approach to fashion. I hope you have a fabulous Friday and weekend.

Hi Sharron Murphy, I love a good geometric print! This skirt looks great on you and I like how you paired it with the longer cardigan for cooler weather. You seem to be having great luck on Vinted, lately. You know me, and flowers, stripes, polka dots-II wear them all! Thanks for sharing and hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Author
Well I had a few bad buys lately on Vinted, but you get that sometimes. Thank you very much Di!
We have very similar styles Sharron Murphy, I like to wear the same sort of outfits. Thanks for hosting the linkup. Jacqui xx

I’m not surprised you fell head over heels for that skirt. It’s definitely one I would fall for too. It looks absolutely perfect styled with black, and yes, I did notice the buttons on your cardigan! They really transform the cardigan! xxx P.S. I hope you’ll have a sunny and dry weekend!
Author
Thanks Ann! It was dry but with a harsh cold wind. I am hoping to enjoy the sun later today!
I tend towards solid colors as well, but sometimes a print just grabs you, doesn’t it? That skirt is so pretty and I like it with the chunky cardigan!

Yes indeed! Thank you very much Laura!
That is a lovely outfit. I am much the same way if I have something printed on then the rest of my clothes tend to be very plain too. I like print mixing on others but I rarely feel like I have enough prints to mix anyway! I did buy 2 fun printed skirts for spring/summer or whenever it finally warms up.

Thanks Joanne!
That’s such a unique geometric print—I’d definitely notice it—and you styled it perfectly with all black!

I always forget to belt a blazer or cardigan, but it’s my favourite way of wearing it!
Sharron Murphy, I don’t think I’ve ever seen you in an outfit that looked boring or not good. You are always so polished and gorgeous! Did you add the buttons to your cardigan? That would be really cool if you did! Thanks for the link up, my friend!

There is absolutely nothing boring about this outfit, my friend! I love this graphic print skirt and your cardigan looks so cozy and warm for these still chilly early spring days. I really like the way it looks belted, too. Fabulous outfit! I hope you have a wonderful weekend and can enjoy some time in your garden.

Hi, Sharron Murphy – You have superb taste. Your styling with black, monochrome and minimalism is stretched to the perfect point where your outfits are classy and sophisticated. I have some black booties just like your favorite ones here and I feel the same way about them: I love them and think they are perfect. It’s always a joy to hear your thoughts. Your blog posts are entertaining to me. Thanks for being you! – Angie, http://www.yourtrueselfblog.com…P.S. I am a day late with linking up because I had eye testing all day yesterday and was told not to use the computer till the next day. But I didn’t want to miss your linkup. Thanks for hosting it every week!

Oh what a sweet comment Angie! You have no idea how much it is appreciated! Thank you very much! I hope everything is okay with your eyes!
I can still recall when you did not like shopping secondhand and am absolutely thrilled seeing that skirt on you. And the way you styled it – it does not get any better, Sharron Murphy!!! it is a beautiful item. And Nicole’s dress is so beautiful.

Hi Sharron Murphy,
I do a fair amount of shopping on Poshmark for years. I enjoy shopping secondhand. You can find pieces that you may have wanted years back, or get something different from whats out there, with also helping the environment and your wallet. Love the skirt and you always look fab in black. Love the jewelry, the earrings are up my alley!

I’m very particular about my prints, but I do love them. This is a good one – and I like the A-line shape of it.

Thanks! It’s a great skirt to wear!
I love the skirt, it really stands out against the black. I mostly shop on Vinted now, the shops are so boring here in the UK – well at least where I live!
