The hardest thing to buy, I find, is something for a wedding as a guest, in my case a dress. My girlfriend was getting married, a few weeks ago. The dress code was casual chic. So luckily not that formal. If you would see my wardrobe……….if you come here regularly on Sharron Murphy’s Fashion Style then you know my wardrobe. And then you know it’s more suitable for a funeral than a wedding, lol. So I went shopping with Gerben one fine day. Very cozy you think, but for shopping I have to take a wheelchair these days. No problem, because I have a custom made one. But it’s still a thing for me.
Going shopping for a wedding guest dress
Of course I couldn’t find anything anywhere and when I finally liked two dresses, they were not in the right size. (luckily, because the ones I actually bought were so much better) Until Gerben said at some point, shall we take a look there? A boutique I never actually visited. And yes! Found two beautiful dresses of a very nice quality and super well cut.
The dress I’m showing today I wore this way at the wedding. After the wedding I’m going to wear it more with sneakers and brown boots. So you see that you can come across something very nice when you enter a store you never been before. Well that’s not true. When I was still working, I often went there for shoes. But never for clothes, bought all my clothes at the shop I worked.
How I wore the ,wedding, dress
The day of the wedding was a very warm day, so I only wore the cardigan while cycling to the event. Got this pink cardigan of the selling pile when I saw that it is a perfect colour to wear on this dress. The golden espadrilles I bought when I went shopping with girlfriend. Days after I bought these I saw that I have the same in black…..shows that I really like them right….? I wore golden hoops for a summer feel, golden layered necklaces and a golden bracelet, and a pink statement ring.
The wedding guest dress is a fabulous one. It was a bit more expensive then I’m used too, but every euro is worth it. You can feel everywhere that it is a well cut dress with a fabulous fabric. Gosh, can’t wait to show you the other one too. Which wasn’t bought for a wedding. But I couldn’t choose and Gerben said, take them both! I let him believe that that was the push, lol.
My hair was done by my hairstylist. There were 30 bobbypins in it and not one of them I felt! And my hair stayed in shape the hole day. Is that a hairstylist or what!
