Burgundy weekend chic: a casual and relaxed style

Wearing a burgundy weekend chic outfit to kick off the weekend early! Who hasn’t worn burgundy this season? We really see it everywhere. As if the colour has been reinvented. While burgundy is of course the trend colour every autumn. Fashion, or rather trends, aren’t that innovative! It’s what you make of it that is innovative. Burgundy is certainly not my favourite colour, but I think it matches the colours I wear very nicely. So black? I hear you say. Yes…..and grey and brown and green. I’m actually quite colourful, hm….

And every Autumn I fall for it again! I want a burgundy lipstick! Yes, and that colour suits me fine, but in the summer with a nice sun-kissed face. Not at this time of year because then I look like a made-up corpse. Soooo, let’s talk about the outfit. My phone is dying and the photos are no longer worth looking at, but I’m afraid you’ll have to do with it.

And what do you see now??? Not yet another pair of jeans???? Gosh, I never knew that wide leg jeans fit so well and are oh so stylish. I wear both so often it’s almost embarrassing. This one is a slightly washed out black, mid rise. I wear it with sneakers, Mary Janes, ankle boots, you name it. And I wear burgundy on it. A blazer and jeans is kind a weekend chic right?

How I wear my colours

I am an autumn type and therefore wear warm colours and a lot of black. Well you may think, but black is not a warm colour. No, although I think it is, but I’m also a muted and high-contrast type and that’s why black suits me. Provided you also adjust your makeup and hair colour. If I wear back and hardly any make-up, it doesn’t look good.

And for a bit of fun and to stay in the burgundy family, I wear a necklace with some dark pink in it and lilac earrings, which I should have replaced with elegant gold earrings, and the ring is also to much actually. Learning all the time.

The blazer is a few years old and from Zara. You can say whatever you want about Zara sizing, but the blazers always fit me perfectly! Not the rest by the way… The jumper is a new one, but I’ve had this burgundy one before. These are basic jumpers with gold-coloured studs on the sleeve, I have them in several colours. Very stretchy and so nice to wear under a jacket, because they are fitted. So this was my burgundy weekend chic look of last weekend. What are you wearing?
