Less is more-the beauty of a minimalistic look
You all know I do love a minimalistic look and today I have one of my favourites. I have looked a little deeper into the autumn collections lately. Not because I necessarily want to follow the latest trends, but I do want to know them and give them my own twist. Of course there are always trends that return every autumn. The lingerie trend and leather, for example. I’ll skip both. Leather because I don’t wear it at home because of my white furniture (leather stains), and the lingerie trend because I don’t understand why you want to be cold. Not me anyway.
A minimalistic look is always on trend
Of course you also see the well-known colours, shades of red, gray, olive green. The classic trench coat and chunky boot remain in style. What appealed to me are the large skirts with graphic prints. With a knitted sweater on top. The wide trousers, balloon model, with a fitted top and slingbacks. The frumpy suits. And the colours poisonous green and gray, and of course the minimalistic look. And as I type this, I’m already starting to feel like shopping! For warm sweaters, wide skirts and striking trousers and tweed jackets! With my luck, I will find nothing that I am thrilled about.
But you know me by now and it won’t surprise you that several packages are on their way to my house. Unfortunately, there are no wide skirts with large prints and frumpy suits, because I couldn’t find them any to my liking. But of course it is still early in the season. I did make sure that I ordered sweaters with wool, thick materials, etc. I ordered a trouser suit from H&M, in a gorgeous grey/green colour, and I’m banishing them, the company not trouser suits, from my life once and for all.
The best look for me, simple, yet elegant
For today I am wearing an outfit from my closet. Trendy, because we see this minimalistic look a lot, simple black turtleneck with leather black boots and a skirt. Totally my style, it can’t be simple enough for me. I know this skirt is really drawing and I have three layers crammed into it, and I’m wearing something shapewear. But you still see everything. Even without the layers you can see everything, so it doesn’t bother me. I think the skirt is too beautiful to worry about that.
But I love this minimalistic look although a turtleneck isn’t the best neckline for me. Just a black jumper, black boots and any skirt. Doesn’t matter what kind a skirt, with the black everything looks good. As usual, I keep the jewelry simple, but in such a way that it stands out.
