Soft drama: Styling balloon trousers with delicate lace

I finally got on the balloon trousers wagon! Actually…..I already did 40 years ago……aaahhh. ( and as you can see 5 years ago too!)

Well, that was another week to quickly forget. It was all about getting back into my daily routine as soon as possible and recovering. Gerben only went back to work on Wednesday. And it’ll take a while for me to get back on track. Meanwhile, the chest X-ray showed something was wrong, so I have to have a CT scan next week and see the pulmonologist. Nothing this week, all appointments canceled, slowly getting back into my daily routine. And eating well, because I’ve lost another kilo, which isn’t good. I’ve now lost 6 kilos in nine months. I’m really bummed about that, because I just can’t get it back on. No matter how much I eat.

But… we did have sunshine all week! Oh, wonderful! We spent a bit of time in the garden every day all week. A bit chilly, but still! Since I don’t have any photos of what I’ve been up to, because I haven’t been up to anything… I have an outfit for you. And believe me, it took me a lot of effort to take these photos! I bought this outfit on TikTok. I liked the salesperson’s approach to what she sells so much that I kept watching. And when these balloon trousers came up, I thought: let me give them a try. I’m not really a fan of balloon pants. But hey, leopard print, right? The sizing was perfect right away, the saleswoman explained everything clearly and showed it off in detail, so you can’t go wrong.

I really like the trend of wearing a lace top under a sweater. And yellow goes well with brown, but it’s also becoming the trend colour of spring. So I’m going to wear that a lot. Also had brown and yellow eyeshadow on, but needed my glasses as I look like shit. Another thing you see a lot of these days is a striped top under a sweater, with long or short sleeves. Fabulous, stripes are so ideal for print mixing. And you see these striped tops in such pretty colour combinations. For now, I really do need a warm knitted sweater.

Leopard and lace, and a bit of wool

I have to say, I’m having a bit of trouble finding the right shoe to wear with the balloon trousers. I didn’t like the look of the balloon trousers tucked into the boots, been there done that, so to speak. (But that’s always the case after a certain age…) Sneakers seems like the best option to me. Or sandals, but it’s still too early for that.

I really think this is a great outfit, and I love the balloon trousers, which have a lot of stretch. Now I’m looking forward to a very quiet weekend, and then I hope I recover a bit faster next week, because I’ll actually have a much too busy week. I’m not looking forward to it already. I’ll probably be completely exhausted and hunched over on my couch every evening. Yeah, that’s the way to do it Nancy…..not. Have a nice weekend, everyone.
