Going Green With Grey and Tieks ballet flats
We are still in the grey days and so why not wear it with green. I believe grey is my new black this winter. But today I’m throwing in a little bit of colour, namely green. You saw me wearing grey with brown and in summer I love to combine it with pink or white. I love it too with yellow, but I don’t have anything in yellow anymore. Not even my ankle boots that I loved very much. Such a cool colour for boots! And actually a terrific colour for clothes! I will give it a try when the warmer months finally come.
Grey trousers and green ankle boots

I realized that I have always worn these types of ankle boots! Ever since I was a teenager. I remember a certain store in Arnhem that always sold a lot of ankle boots in all kinds of colours. At the time, besides black, I loved cobalt blue! But over the years I’ve had them in all kinds of colours, even gold. Unfortunately I rarely wear heels anymore, walking is becoming increasingly difficult anyway. But they are ideal for sitting parties. But back to the outfit. Green and grey is a very complimentary combination, right?
The trousers and blazer are new, well new, bought in December but not worn yet. Zara blazers are the best, I know, I’m repeating myself. The grey trousers are actually a bit too baggy, a size smaller was too tight. But I do like my trousers a bit baggy. The jumper with bow is from last year and wonderfully warm. And I always like a bow. I have had ankle boots with a bow, earrings, etc.
Balance the look with green accessories

To bring back the green in this mainly grey outfit, I wear green bracelets and a green belt. I read somewhere that if you want to wear a colour with an almost monochrome outfit, you should wear an odd number of that colour for the sake of a balanced look. Of course should is suggestive here, if you find it much nicer to wear an even number, that’s completely fine. I must honestly say that I am always a fan of balance and often go for even numbers. For example with vases in the house or something. But when adding an extra colour I now always stick to an odd number. I think it looks better somehow. I am pretty happy with this look, the green and grey are perfect to me. And the trousers are super comfortable, yet the blazer makes it not to relaxed!

I was allowed to choose a pair of ballet flats from Tieks for a collaboration and I choose these leopard print ones. Don’t think I’ve ever had ballet flats that fit better than these. And perfect sizing too. These shoes have soles underneath so they are not so flat as other ballet flats. I will wear these a lot in the warmer months!
